Why does sin(30) give an unexpected value?

The calculator may be in radian mode. Select degrees when the input is 30 degrees.

What is the difference between sin⁻¹(x) and 1 ÷ sin(x)?

sin⁻¹ commonly means arcsine, the inverse function; the reciprocal of sine is cosecant.
