Turn PDF tables into editable spreadsheet data

Convert text-based or scanned PDF tables to an editable preview, then copy them to Google Sheets or download XLSX, CSV, TSV or ODS.

Worked example

Input

A multi-page PDF report containing a five-column course table.

Result

Editable rows and columns that can be copied into cell A1 in Google Sheets or downloaded as a spreadsheet.

How table detection works

Text positions and OCR geometry are grouped into lines and columns. When no usable text layer is found, the dedicated local OCR worker processes selected pages.

Features

  • Process selected page ranges instead of the entire document.
  • Review and edit detected cells before export.
  • Export XLSX, CSV, TSV or ODS, or copy tab-separated data and open Google Sheets.

Scans and OCR

Image-only pages use local English OCR. Deskewing, high resolution and clear table borders improve recognition, but photographs, handwriting and overlapping graphics still require correction.

Privacy, accuracy and limits

  • The PDF is processed locally and is not uploaded to VersaToolkit.
  • Password-protected PDFs must be unlocked by an authorized user before processing.
  • Always compare dates, decimal separators, negative signs, totals and merged cells with the source.

Frequently asked questions

Does this connect to my Google account?

No. It copies spreadsheet-ready data and opens Google Sheets; you paste into your own sheet without granting this tool Google account access.

Why did columns shift?

Irregular spacing, merged cells and OCR geometry can change column grouping. Edit the preview or process fewer pages at a time.

Which pages should I process first in a long report?

Start with a small representative range, verify columns and OCR quality, then expand the range after confirming the layout.

Processing takes place locally in your browser.
